Universal Cranes has been Brisbane’s leading crane hire and lift engineering solutions provider for nearly 30 years. Starting in Clontarf with a small fleet of three franna cranes, Universal Cranes Brisbane has grown to a fleet of 35 since a change of ownership in 2002.
The original Universal Cranes branch, Universal Cranes Brisbane is the flagship branch of the Group. Nowadays, as the Universal Cranes headquarters, our Brisbane depot is a busy operational hub, buzzing with our in-house maintenance team, painting crew, dispatchers, drivers and riggers.
Our Brisbane depot stands on what was once the Bulimba A Power Station, which was built in the 1920s. The power station was decommissioned in the late 1980s. After purchasing the property in 2004, we carried out extensive renovations to the original office building, which we still occupy today. Our workshop and repair yard is situated on the footprint of the power station, and the cranes are parked on the footprint of the old transformer.
