Universal Cranes Sunshine Coast

Branch Info

Specialised project crane hire solutions. Site based mobile and crawler cranes for complex lifting requirements.

After spending 5 years in construction on Guam, John Hanna moved his family to Australia to set up the Sunshine Coast branch of Universal Cranes in 2005. Although initially in partnership with Albert Smith, the Sunshine Coast branch is now independently owned by John Hanna and his family. Starting with a fleet of only 2 cranes, the business has grown quickly over 16 years to a current fleet of 10 mobile cranes ranging in size from a 15 tonne Franna to a 130 tonne mobile Grove.

Universal Cranes Sunshine Coast continues to enjoy the technical support and access to the expansive fleet of the flagship Brisbane branch. Universal Cranes Sunshine Coast are representatives for Brisbane’s crawler crane fleet and heavy lifting solutions.

The Sunshine Coast depot at Maroochydore Road was purchased in 2012. The onsite building was renovated in the first year to provide a workshop and a portable building was moved on-site as an office. A new office building was constructed in 2017.
