Universal Cranes celebrates National Family Business Day in an Aussie way!

19 September 2023

Today, Monday 19th September is National Family Business Day. We are celebrating in a classic Aussie way, during Smoko (construction sites morning tea break). We bought only Australian owned or Australian family business owned morning tea items. Supporting local the best way we know how!

Today is designed to recognise the invaluable contribution family businesses make to the Australian economy, community and culture. A proud member of Family Business Australia, Universal Cranes is a third-generation crane hire company operating across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific.

Universal Cranes has been operating for 29 years, established in 1993 with a small depot and only three Franna cranes and purchased by the Smith Family in 2001. By 2002, we had doubled Universal Cranes to 20 cranes in operation. We now have a fleet of over 200 cranes ranging from 3T to 750T and growing.

While Universal Cranes has grown to become a national crane hire company, local families still own and operate our branches throughout Queensland and New South Wales. We are proud of all the unique stories that make up the history of our company.

Happy National Family Business Day!
